Andrew C. Isenberg is the Hall Distinguished Professor of American History at the University of Kansas, specializing in environmental history, Native American history, and the history of the North American West and its borderlands. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he graduated magna cum laude from St. Olaf College before earning a Ph.D. in History from Northwestern University. He has held teaching positions at the University of Puget Sound, Brown University, Princeton University, and Temple University. Isenberg has contributed to several historical documentaries, including America Before Columbus (2009), American Experience (2010), The American West (2016), and Ken Burns' The American Buffalo (2023).
