James E. Craig (born 1956) is an American law enforcement official who served as the chief of the Detroit Police Department from 2013 to 2021. He previously served as chief of the Cincinnati Police Department and Portland (Maine) Police Department.In October 2023, he announced that he was running for the open U.S. senate seat in Michigan held by retiring Democratic senator Debbie Stabenow.
