Born in London to a British civil servant father and Tamil Indian teacher mother. His brother is a sports presenter for Sky. He began in theatre after attending a summer school while working as an usher and teacher. He was a BAFTA Breakthrough Brit (2013) for independent film My Brother the Devil, among other accolades. He is an actor/director/writer, most famous for his portrayal of Dr Gabriel Varma in The Good Karma Hospital, Prince Ishbaal in big-budget streaming Biblical drama Of Kings and Prophets and Nasser in war drama No Man's Land as part of ensemble casts. His script and directorial debut for Unicorns premiered at TIFF2023 to high acclaim.
