Dr. Michael P. Branch is a naturalist, writer, and humorist. He is also Professor of Literature and Environment at University of Nevada Reno, where he teaches American literature, creative nonfiction, environmental studies, humor studies and film studies.Branch's work has appeared in The Best American Essays, The Best American Science and Nature Writing, and The Best American Nonrequired Reading. His first book, "Raising Wild: Dispatches from a Home in the Wilderness," was published in 2016.Branch received his B.A. in English from the College of William and Mary. and his M.A. and Ph.D. in English from the University of Virginia.
