Peter Labuza is a historian whose work focuses on the legal, financial, and political history of creative industries. He currently teaches at San José State University, and is a film critic for LAist. He hosts the podcasts "Framing Media" and "The Cinephiliacs."Labuza's work has appeared in Journal for Cinema and Media Studies, Film History, The Velvet Light Trap, Mediascape, Film Quarterly, Sight & Sound, and The Los Angeles Review of Books.Labuza received his B.A. in Film Studies and his M.A. in Film, Cinema, and Video Studies from Columbia University New York, and his Ph.D. in Critical Studies from the University of Southern California.
