In this episode I sit down with my friend Ms. Anna, a parent and special education Math & ELA teacher in the Seattle metro area. In 2018 she came out as a trans woman, and she reflects on the culture and systems that unjustly dehumanized and sexualized her, pushing her out of a teaching job that she had held for 20 years. We also discuss self-consciousness, implicit biases, starting over, and what it’s been like to teach through the pandemic. It’s a real, human conversation, and I hope you enjoy your time with Anna,
