Delia does an excellent job of setting up the critical information for this investigation in this episode. This exposition sets the tone for the rest of the series and sets a tone of investigation, rather than one of true-crime story telling.

Nothing extraordinary about the Pelley family; Strict father and a loving sympathetic mother like many ordinary families. I appreciate the producer efforts in providing testimonies from the children ( now adults ) as they describe their experiences and living arrangements. The addition of a close family friend ; the Pastor is excellent to eliminate family bias. The base is set and now It’s time for episode 2 .
