In the last episode of Crest of the Wave, we learned about Readers to Leaders, a partnership of the Daytona Regional Chamber, Leadership Daytona Alumni Council, Early Learning Coalition of Flagler Volusia, and Volusia County Schools. It’s an initiative that emerged from a Leadership Daytona class challenge to boost youth literacy in the region and support the success of our youngest learners. 

In part two of this two-part series, we’ll learn more about the impact the initiative is having on student success and how local community and business leaders can get involved. Allison Miller from the Early Learning Coalition and Kristy Castellanos of Volusia County Schools will share insights on the positive effects Readers to Leaders is already having on student achievement.
