The process of European integration has been hailed as ‘the most ambitious and most successful example of peaceful international cooperation in world history’ (Andrew Moravcsik). The interview series critically examines this process through different disciplinary lenses. For example, the common European currency, the Euro, is addressed not just in terms of history and economics but also in relation to its political implications for national and European identity. Against the background of the EU’s current crisis, interview partners are also encouraged to contemplate Europe’s future. Dr Stefan Auer holds a Jean Monnet Chair in EU Interdisciplinary Studies.
