Things have been extremely difficult. A pandemic, divisive politics, climate change, a war, women’s rights & Civil Rights, wealth inequality, housing, inflation, relationships, Social Media…The list can go on and on. We have focused on all these important issues but neglected the most important issue. Our mental health. People aren’t ok….

Social media is FAKE. We tend to show the best sides of ourselves—the truth or rawness of emotion/reality is rarely shown. When those of us no longer fit the “idea or concept of normal,” “status quo” or society’s ablest viewpoints, we often face stigma and marginalization. We are demonized, ostracized, and othered. We internalize this abuse in our own minds and turn on ourselves.

You are not alone. YOU ARE DEFIANT. We can talk about mental health. We can advocate for mental health. We can change our mental health.

Join us as we shine a light into the darkest recesses of our minds by discussing our own experiences, perceptions, and popular culture. There will be laughter, maybe some tears and defiantly thought-provoking moments. We can break down barriers, discussing mental health, wellness and living – just being here, being defiant together.
