While waiting for Westley’s return, Buttercup receives word of his tragic death on the high seas. While in a state of despair, she is approached by Prince Humperdinck who is in search of a wife before his ascension to the throne of Florin. Before the wedding could take place she is kidnapped by three outlaws: a Sicilian, a Spaniard, and a giant. Their plan of an easy get away is complicated by the apparition of a mysterious masked man dressed in black.
