As an author, my goal is to write in a way that creates a reaction in my readers, whether it's a good reaction, or a gut reaction doesn't matter, as long as my words somehow make readers both think and feel. As a reader, I discuss what makes me react, who I enjoy reading, and what movies from books make me cry like a baby...all while driving to pick up dinner!
