In this episode we push into chapter 13 exploring Jesus's warnings directed at Israel to give up the the hope of a violent revolution in exchange for the hope of the Kingdom of God he is leading.  He warns Israel of being a failed fig tree and heals a woman on the Sabbath as a mustard seed act and demonstration of the in breaking Kingdom.

From The Podcast

This is a stripped down podcast that is basically the recording of a Sunday morning Bible study lead by Jeff Rogers in service to the Central Church with GO Ministries. We're not exclusively "gringos" but since most of us participating are we call it the "Gringlish Fellowship" because we're gringos (mostly) and the study is in English. We were asked to provide this study as an encouragement to North American GO Staff as well as other North American missionaries serving in Santiago, Dominican Republic and surrounding areas, short and long term, so that at least once a week we could gather in our heart language to discuss Jesus and his Kingdom. This gathering is open air. Don't be surprised to be interupted by the sounds of motorcycles, car stereos, roosters, etc. It's all a part of the fun!Former staff and others have encouraged Jeff to make these teaching times available via podcast format. We hope it is a blessing to you. Some things to keep in mind...1. This is a gathering of missionally focused missionaries from various Christian traditions. We keep the main thing the main thing and discuss our differences in interpretation (when they emerge) generously, lovingly, and respectfully. There is room here to agree to disagree and still support one another and serve together.2. We move through one text at a time to allow for the writer's full meaning and themes to come through as much as possible.3. We use the original historical-cultural context in which the Scriptures were written to inform our interpretation as best as possible given the history available to us.
