Philemon is the name of a small letter in the New Testament that centers on Onesimus, a slave who ran away from his master, Philemon, a Christian leader in Colossae. During his time away, Onesimus meets the Apostle Paul, who was imprisoned in Rome and became a Christian. 

Paul writes to Philemon, urging him to forgive Onesimus and welcome him back not as a slave but as a beloved brother in Christ. Paul appeals to Philemon’s love and faith, even offering to repay any debt Onesimus may owe. 

The letter reflects themes of forgiveness, reconciliation, and the gospel's transforming power in personal relationships. It is an excellent case study in building positive, productive relationships. Its lessons can help us get along with our spouses, children, parents, and friends.
