From The Podcast
Hello World! Welcome to my Memoir of a Computer SuperGeek podcast! From 1982 to 2017, I was an independent developer in the industries of computers & electronics (at the semiconductor level), achieving numerous masteries! And then, after surviving four years of domestic terrorism beyond my family's control, I became totally BLIND in both of my eyes, terminating my lifestyle as a successful SuperGeek of computers & electronics!Hello again, World! I'm Marcos Miranda, a Filipino-American US citizen in the Philippines! I was born in Boston, grew up mostly in Seattle, some in Chicago, and have lived in Anchorage & San Francisco before becoming a disabled person (PWD). Despite my disabilities, I achieved my technology-life's maximum potential during my final 12 years of vision, while living in the Philippines! Some of my major achievements were, 31 wonderful years of foreign language speech synthesis development, 28 wonderful years of UNIX development and 21 wonderful years of GNU/Linux, which includes embedded GNU/Linux via Raspberry Pi & Beaglebone Black, system-on-a-chip (SoC) internet-of-things (IoT) embedded systems. I was also an independent PalmOS developer for a decade, and an independent Google developer during my final decade of vision. I was also an independent PowerPC software developer of MacOS X Tiger/Leopard, and beginning independent developer of MorphOS & AmigaOS. I was self-learning how to develop Google Android apps when I lost my vision. My computer developer lifestyle began with the Commodore VIC-20 in September 1982 and with the Casio PB-300 (pocket computer) in August 1983. I mastered the B.A.S.I.C. computer programming language at the age of 13 years old!My computer bulletin board system (BBS) lifestyle was from 1982 to 1992, in which I was a BBS "sysop" for six years & a BBS developer for three years. From 1992 to 2010, I was a moderator for many BBSs & online forums. From 1997 until my vision-loss in 2017, I was an independent developer of "white hat" computer & network security, aka "CyberSecurity". I achieved mastery level two years before I completely lost my vision. I was developing a living CyberSecurity robot, but I became blind before I could finish it.My independent development lifestyle inspired the inventions of Amazon Web Services, the Amazon Kindle & the Amazon Echo. I've been boycotting Amazon until a year after I became blind. This podcast is about my the memories retained in my head, prior to my vision-loss that occurred in December 2017. I had witnessed the beginnings of major technologies that exists today! I have personally-met Bill Gates, (now-late) Paul Allen, (now-late) Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak & Jeff Bezos between the years of 1983 & 1998, and still have memories of them! Due to my vision-loss, I'm unable to decrypt my archives, which I had encrypted using my own proprietary data encryption & compression standard, which is not compatible with any accessible/adaptive technology, mostly because I never forecasted my blindness. I am now 50 years old and I don't know if I will ever return to the USA.This podcast is my 4th podcast! My three other podcasts are, The BLIND Scientist, The BLIND Biblical Researcher and, Daily BLIND Living. Thanks for listening! Have a Great Day and a Wonderful New Year!
