Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings was very clear on why he opted to sign an agreement regarding ICE and the transportation of immigrant detainees by Orange County law enforcement. The burden would be overwhelming to an already understaffed jail personnel. So, in an effort to avoid the removal of County Commissioners and his position by the governor, the Mayor did sign an agreement (which can be seen below).
