Walter V. Robinson, named ASU's Reynolds Visiting Professor and award winning investigative journalist reviews "Spotlight" the movie with students at the Cronkite School of Journalism. We spent a few minutes talking about journalism, the movie, and what it takes to do investigative reporting, make the powerful accountable and how to never take "No" for an answer.
"Spotlight" based on a true story takes us into the Boston Globe's 2001 investigation that uncovered a series of sexual abuse cases by Catholic Priests in Boston. At the heart of the investigation, Walter "Robby" Robinson played by Michael Keaton and his team of Spotlight reporters. Their investigation received a 2003 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service. Spotlight received the 2016 Academy Award for Best Picture.
