In 1849, Edgar Allan Poe died in a hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. The facts of his death are well-documented, but the cause (or causes) are still unknown to this day and the theories raised by Poe historians and biographers run from murder to alcoholism to rabies. In today’s episode we take a look at the tragic life and untimely death of the “master of the macabre” and explore some of the many theories that have been presented to explain the curious circumstances of his passing.
