An epic battle between the Gods of old results in the utter destruction of their realm and world! From the ashes of the Old Gods came the New Gods. New Gods was an ongoing series that introduced the race known as the New Gods and expanded upon Jack Kirby's Fourth World concept which he introduced in the pages of Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen. The series was initially discontinued in 1972 after issue #11, but was restarted in 1977 under a new creative team. The protagonist of the series was Orion, son of the evil Darkseid of Apokolips and his never-ending quest to keep his father from learning the secret of the Anti-Life Equation.
