NTU and Lianhe Zaobao jointly organised a public lecture by Nobel Laureate Prof CN Yang and renowned Chinese artist Prof Fan on 3 November at Nanyang Auditorium, NTU. The two world-renowned personalities will discuss and interpret the subject of "beauty" from the scientific and artistic point of view at this public lecture.

Nanyang Technological University (NTU) has set up an Institute of Advanced Studies (IAS) to give its science and technology initiatives a Nobel boost. This institute brings together the best of the university's science and engineering schools, and the hallmark will be science at the highest level.IAS will organize at least 3 workshops per year to complement and augment the ongoing research strengths of Singapore. The workshops will be designed to promote research collaborations between Singapore and overseas scientists.Key experts in the field, both from Asia and from the West, will be invited to spend up to 2 weeks for a series of advanced seminars. Local experts will also present talks on their research.
