In this episode of The Nomad Podcast, I interview Miles Beckler. Miles and his wife Melanie gave up on the “typical” American lifestyle over 3 years ago now and haven’t looked back. Together they run an online information business while they travel and live around the world, spending around 3 to 6 months in each location. What started out as a hobby for Miles quickly turned into a business as he realize the potential to earn money online.
Miles Beckler helps entrepreneurs tap into abundance and lifestyle freedom. He helps internet marketers increase leads and conversions through efficient sales funnels, pay per click and strategic internet marketing ideas. He is also very interested in helping create change and add positivity to the world. He loves to help people improve their life and realize their potential.
During the interview, we discuss how Miles made the transition to becoming a location independent entrepreneur. It all started with buying an RV and traveling around the US, but a trip to Costa Rica for 3 months turned him and his wife into minimalistic nomads. We dive into how traveling around the world broadens your cultural experience while also expanding your patience and creativity.
We also discuss being a digital nomad in different parts of the world and what that means. While some digital nomads really take advantage of geo-arbitrage, he warns that you should not fall into that trap and get stuck there. For those of you don’t know what geo-arbitrage is, it’s basically a fancy term for the fact that you can leverage your strong US dollar or Euro currency in cheaper places in the world. Your money will stretch further, allowing you to live a nicer lifestyle in places such as South America, Eastern Europe, and Asia. Miles warns that while this can be a valuable tool, if you get trapped only making enough to live in these cheaper countries, you won’t be able to fully experience the world, because some of the most beautiful places in the world have a relatively high price tag.
Lastly, we discuss an amazing mastermind retreat in Thailand that Miles is organizing in October 2016. You can check it out at abundantcircle.com and it’s all about bringing like-minded entrepreneurs together to create ideas that can change the world. Miles really wants to help people and create stronger communities, and it will be exciting to see what ideas and outcomes are created from this retreat.
