Here's the real first episode of the podcast, where I explain why you might want to start with this episode instead of that other first episode. Basically, I've reframed the podcast to make it more specific to the audience that I'm hoping to attract. Topics discussed in this episode: * Why the first episode was the wrong direction* An introduction to the Rock and Roll Reclaimed business, which I have started in 2021 after leaving a two-decade long marketing career. * Focusing my message, and fine-tuning the point of viewClosing out the show I talk about one of the records that I have been listening to recently, Grand Funk's Live Album from 1970 and why I didn't take to it when my dad first introduced it to me in my teenage years. Spoiler: I've taken to it now. Here's the accompanying article about this classic live album. From The Podcast

Hey! Mark here. I'm working on a few other things as I grow my business and have decided to "pause" the podcast for just a little while. Don't you dare unsubscribe! New episodes will be making their way into your ears shortly. This podcast is all about celebrating and reclaiming some of the things that make life great. From week to week, at least for me, those include good music, good whiskey, and a few other things from time to time. Rock and Roll was built on the music that came before it, like blues, jazz, country and western, and later even a little classical. The pioneers of rock took these existing genres and rebuilt them into something that was a better fit for the youth of the 1950s and 1960s. Rock and Roll has continued to build on itself ever since, reclaiming the best ideas and bringing them to new generations over and over again. That's what Rock and Roll Reclaimed is about. It’s not just about rock and roll music. It’s about taking what came before, reclaiming it, celebrating it, then transforming it into something new that is a better fit for our current time, place, and way of life. This podcast is all about celebrating and reclaiming some of the things that make life great. From week to week, at least for me, those include good music, good whiskey, and a few other things from time to time. The majority of what you'll hear on this podcast are discussions about a particular album each week. Usually rock and roll. Sometimes in a genre that's related to rock and roll. It could be a new album that's come out recently that I'm really getting into. It could be a classic album. Still not sure? What if I told you that whiskey went really well with your listening experience. It does. Each week I'm going to pair my selected album with a selected whiskey. I'm no whiskey expert, but I'll do my best to document what I'm drinking from week to week. Finally, follow my journey as I leave my life in the corporate world to start a small rock and roll-themed maker business, reclaiming wood and other materials found on my family's farm, transforming them and giving them new life. I might also throw in some marketing talk where relevant, since that was my background. There's lots to talk about. Start listening today.
