Hey Slaycaters, today’s episode takes place in the ocean, literally. Yes. In. The. Ocean. It’s the horrific tale of Tom Lonergan and Eileen Cassidy, a young couple of avid scuba divers excited to explore the Coral Sea off Australia’s Northeast Coast.  

What happens to them is the stuff of a horror movie, literally. The movie Open Water is based on this case (but it could have been called ‘Dude, Where’s My Boat?’)

It’s also an extreme cautionary tale of what happens when people don’t speak up when they notice things out of the ordinary — or when a tourism business fails to do the basic job of keeping its guests safe. Once you hear this tragic tale, you’ll never forget it.  Fin.
