Unfolding over the past 15 years, a paradigm shift has opened up new potentials for architecture and the city. Advances in technology, and more importantly, the cultural energies that inform them, have changed the face of architecture. The Lecture Series “Imminent Domains” will examine a diverse set of approaches to this expanded field by a renowned group of international architects. Particular emphasis has been given to Japanese practices as part of a new initiative for the School of Architecture’s Japan Program. This initiative will be the first of a three-year project exploring new models of architecture and the city in collaboration with Tokyo University. This Lecture Series is curated by Jesse Reiser, Associate Professor at Princeton University School of Architecture, and Nanako Umemoto, Principal, Reiser+Umemoto RUR Architecture PC.
