With recent developments around VMware, there is renewed market interest in KVM, the leading alternative hypervisor.

Many enterprises inadvertently leverage KVM when utilizing large hyperscale cloud providers, as these platforms predominantly operate on KVM. However, when it comes to running private or edge cloud environments, KVM can be perceived as a complex and unfamiliar technology.

We will cover the strengths and limitations of these two approaches, exploring their applicability to specific use cases, including multi-tenant IaaS, enterprise private clouds, and distributed #edge deployments.
