With millions of Americans using social media and the internet every day, it is still amazing such a low percentage actually know their First Amendment Rights of Free Speech and where the line is from protected speech and criminal or "true threat" speech.  Additionally, many people don't realize that large social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. are private companies and can censor speech under their own terms.   
     Please join Vincent McCrudden as he welcomes guests Professor Nadine Strossen from New York Law School and former President of the ACLU for 18 years, and Anthony Douglas Elonis who's Supreme Court case is the current precedent on true threat speech. Anthony's case helped define and limit more closely First Amendment cases the Government could prosecute by adding mens rea, or intent to the free speech statutes.
