The MimeCast is a series of biographical podcast interviews of current and veteran members of the Tony and OBIE award-winning, and despite its name never, ever silent San Francisco Mime Troupe, “America's Foremost Theatre of Political Comedy." For the past 60 years the Mime Troupe has brought its brand of revolutionary theater to audiences across the country and around the world.
Their original musical comedies, and some dramas, but mainly comedies, have tackled social, economic, and environmental justice, civil rights, workers rights, gender equality, oppression at home and abroad, and how capitalism is essentially antithetical to democracy.
Hundreds of artists, actors, designers, writers, directors, composers, lyricists, and choreographers have helped the Mime Troupe inform, entertain, and stir up the working class over the decades, and the MimeCast is a chance to get to know some of them a little bit better.
Hosted by SFMT member Michael Gene Sullivan
