Sexual Trauma manifests differently for different people.
Let Love Be Your Beam joined by sexual trauma survivor Aj Beaber with You & I, INC, tells part of her story in her journey to healing from sexual-assault. She talks about her healing process. Through her journey, she has found the strength and voice to stand up for other victims of sexual abuse through her non-profit, Red Light Love.
There are various types of sexual abuse. Some child victims are often too young to know how to express what is happening and to seek out help. When not properly treated, this can result in a lifetime of syndromes that affect not just the victim and their family, but all of our society. Because sexual abuse, molestation, and rape are such shame-filled concepts, our culture tends to suppress information about them. According to childtrauma.org, in the U.S. one out of three females and one out of five males have been victims of sexual abuse before the age of 18 years old. According to the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress (AAETS), 30% of all male children are molested in some way, compared to 40% of females.
Where is home? Where is your love? Love is the potential that arises when you reconnect with what is present and foster a relationship with your own internal wisdom and intuition. Through the journey of mind and emotional understanding we get harmony.
