The goal of user centered software design is a product that is optimized for its users, rather than a product, for which the users have to adapt their behavior. User centered software design includes a broad spectrum of approaches, techniques and tools from computer science and psychology. In addition to a basic introduction into the methodology of user centered design, this lecture course focuses on User Interface Engineering, since the User Interface is on of the core aspect of Human-Machine Interaction.
