Wanga -meaning “to speak, to make noise” in Burarra, a language from Maningrida, West Arnhem Land, is a storytelling podcast produced with love and intention. Supported by Darwin City Council, the series centers the voices, histories, and creative futures of First Nations people, as well as regional and remote artists and creatives across so-called Australia.
Each episode weaves rich conversations, music, and lived experience to explore themes of culture, identity, creativity, resistance, and community healing. From Black motherhood and queer histories in the Top End to art as a form of resistance, Wanga is rooted in truth-telling and creative expression.
This sonic offering invites listeners to listen deeply, feel fully, and remember who we are, a space where stories rise, voices are honoured, and noise becomes a powerful act of presence and connection.
