Hello filmmakers and movie fans! Our names are Raven (she/her) and Charlie (she/they). We've been making movies together since we were children. As adults, we struggled for many years in the trenches of micro-micro-budget (and no-budget) filmmaking, before we got a VERY lucky break and were able to co-found New 32 Productions, a North Carolina-based production studio.Our goal with this podcast is to talk candidly about the experiences we had coming up as self-taught filmmakers, while discussing the process of trying to run a production studio now. There are a ton of problems with the film industry at all levels, and we want to use our platform to advocate for more ethical and person-focused filmmaking.So let's talk about it! Whether we have wisdom to share is ultimately for you to decide, humble listener. But at the very least, we hope to give you some stuff to laugh about, because filmmaking is very very weird.
