There are some programs and utilities that just can't be run at the command-line supplied by the default Linux images in the Windows Azure Linux gallery. Sometimes, you have to use a graphical desktop with a mouse, windows, icons and all the stuff we're spoilt with on Windows.

In this video I show you how to generate a Linux VM on Windows Azure, then use the command line to install a graphical interface and finally how to install an RDP server on the Linux Server. I then show you how to expose the RDP server's port to the Internet so you can use the Windows Remote Desktop client to connect to it and use the Linux GNOME desktop.

The demo is on the Ubuntu Linux Server 12.04 LTS.
