Today would have been my dad's 80th birthday.

When I was 15, he handed me "The Mental Game of Baseball" and said it could change everything.

I told him I read it.... I didn't.

It wasn't until seven years later - breaking down in front of my coaches, questioning whether I'd even be a starter - that I finally understood what he was trying to give me.

My dad hated wasted potential. On his 80th birthday, I'm starting this series to build the bridges between ancient wisdom and modern life that I wish I was ready to hear at 15.
