Are we alone in the universe?
The Drake Equation is used to estimate the number of communicating civilisations in the universe or, simply put, the odds of finding intelligent life in the universe. Any calculation of the Drake Equation remains a rough estimate for now as we don’t yet have a firm hold on all the variables. However, best estimates are there are between 100-200 billion galaxies in the universe. And it’s estimated in the Milky Way alone that there are 160 billion planets – so the odds are pretty high that we’re not alone!!
