An excellent visit with this intellectual polyglot. His readers will not be disappointed, as he glides between literary, political, historical, and cultural topics. Bibliophiles will enjoy hearing Manguel speak. In addition to libraries, this is a book about readers and their relationships with books, as are several of his other delightful books, such as THE LIBRARY AT NIGHT. The best book about libraries, however, is THE LIBRARY: A FRAGILE HISTORY by Andrew Pettegree and Arthur der Weduwen.
