Art, activism, and the threads that hold us together through process, presence, and the politics of making.
Hi, I’m Britt and I'm an artisan papermaker and mixed media fiber artist. Welcome to my quiet corner of the internet where I share the deeper stories behind my work: what fuels it, what challenges it, and what gives it meaning.
Between the Fibers is part studio journal, part personal essay, and part open conversation. It lives behind the scenes of my art practice, Loom & Deckle, and holds space for reflection, connection, and community. I’ll write about what it means to create within a culture of urgency, and what it looks like to choose slowness, softness, and sustainability instead.
Sometimes I’ll share what I’m working on in the studio. Sometimes I’ll write about what I’m reading or learning. Sometimes I’ll reflect on what it means to be a working artist and human in this moment.
So, why the name Between the Fibers?
Because so much of what matters happens in the in-between. The invisible work. The held tension. The quiet repair. The conversations I carry in my hands. Whether it’s pulp becoming paper or yarn becoming form, the process is where the story lives.
Thanks for being here. I’m glad you found your way.
